Network Server Administrator

My name is Denise White and I represent Astyra Corporation. If you are not familiar with Astyra Corporation, I would direct you to www.astyra.com. Currently, we are seeking a Network/Server Administrator for a 12 month+ contract position in the Staunton, VA area.

Skills/Requirements
Plan, prioritize, and implements WAN/LAN upgrades and new installations in support of the users requirements and Agency goals. Monitors network resources to provide secure and reliable network access for agency customers. Works with agency organizations concerning server and telecommunications issues.

Administrator for servers within local service area as required. Responsible for the performance and the standardization of Windows 2000/2003 servers within the District. Oversees backup processes and disaster recovery processes.

Administer network and server security processes. Administers enterprise antivirus systems to ensure customer systems and data are protected from malicious virus attacks. Monitors network to prevent any unauthorized access to District network and any unauthorized access to District data.

Provide efficient and effective 2nd and 3rd level user support and problem resolution on desktop computer hardware and software. Provides on-site network trouble-shooting, installation and repair of destkop, network and server resources in Area 155 in support of agency IT Partnership support activities

Educational Requirements:
College Degree in IT related field preferred and/or a combination of education and work experience to demonstrate the above skills and abilities.

In depth experience in Information Technology concepts, Windows 2000/2003 Server, Microsoft Office, Windows 2000/XP client, Enterprise Antivirus administration (McAfee ePO/Symantec AV), Exchange/Outlook and LAN/WAN technologies including Nortel switches and Cisco routers. Knowledge of design and implementation of enterprise backup and disaster recovery processes.

In depth knowledge and experience in network design and server administration in a TCP/IP environment. Knowledge of Wireless network design and security and VPN administration.

Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audience both in writing and verbally.
