JOB DUTIES

Architect, design, install, configure and support LAN/WAN communications systems in a large multi-campus environment for a global corporation. Plan and implement solutions using good methodology practices. Install, configure and support network infrastructure, evaluate new technologies and products, implement network management tools.



This position will require on-call support duty on a rotating basis.



The team supports data communications, voice/telephony, and Internet access, as well as management and security for these platforms. This is not a server or web-site support position.



REQUIREMENTS

Good teamwork and communication skills are essential for success in this environment.



The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have good organizational and project skills, and will be strong on follow-up. Excellent technical knowledge and troubleshooting aptitude is required.



• Demonstrated experience in some of the following products: Nortel switches, Cisco routers, Internet access, Connectivity VPN/Extranet, leased lines, CSU/DSU, ISDN, Siemens or other telephony platforms, VoIP, Checkpoint firewall, HP Openview, Optivity.

• Good knowledge of WAN/LAN network topologies and protocols, some knowledge of network security practices and telephony/voice networks.

• Eight years experience, plus a BS degree in Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, math, or similar degree is preferred, or an AS degree with additional experience.

• Certifications, such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Nortel, Sniffer, Checkpoint Firewall, are strongly preferred.

• MCSE, CNE, or other NOS certifications a plus.
